Throughout this series, Ogami can seem like an uncaring father, due to the dangers Daigoro faces walking the warrior's path. This story refutes that perspective. With Daigoro sick and bounty hunters on their trail, Ogami risks his life by asking questions in town--providing a trail for the bounty hunters--and sailing through a tempestuous storm to gain the mikan needed to heal Daigoro. Putting his son's life before his own, Ogami shows his true love for Daigoro.
